Venus Magazine + Queen Bee!

Well, I just recieved the pictures that Chas Bowie took of the shop for Venus magazine...and they came out beautifully!  So I thought I might share one with you!  Yes, that is Seyta of Duchess fame, and myself on the red chair...trying our very darndest to look fancy for the camera!         

Memoir also just recieved our latest shipment of Queen Bee bags...which are as lovely as ever.
        My favorite design is the Poppy (pictured here) .   How can you go wrong with this bag?  Come get yours before I give into temptation (which happens far more often than I'd like to admit!) and nab it for myself!  tee hee.
                      

A real Scorcher

Hello Portland!
   Looking forward to the weekend weather?  How many of you locals are making the shortish trek to the coast this weekend to escape the 105 degree weather we will be suffering through here in town?  What?!  Can't afford the gas you say?!  Fear not!   As Duchess & Memoir will be open, and the AC will be going full blast! 
   Perhaps we'll make some lemonade and treats for you to enjoy whilst the suns beams down on the less fortunate outside our doors! 
   
Aside from the usual paper goods and accessories bit, I have been quite busy in thinking up, and swatching for the soon-to-be Duchess line of reproduction vintage sweaters!  I am taking my inspiration from the Edwardian era through the 1940's,   men and women's, pullovers & cardigans....
I have a tiny library of antique home-ec books...mostly knitting and sewing and cooking...so finally I can justify their purchases by using them for a work-related project! 
My knitting of late have turned to more traditional types of garments...guernseys, scandinavian designs, traditional fair isle...so this is proving to be a really fun project already...

I also wanted to mention that we now carry a wonderful line of handbags by Chibi .  Hailing from San Francisco (my ol' hometown!) - each bag is handmade and unique.  In fact I can't order more than 5 at once!  So come on in and take a gander at these swell handbags.
